Nagpur (IP News). A traffic accident victim, a 58 year old male with compound fracture of the tibia & fibula was rushed to Barkuhi Central Hospital in the Pench area of Western Coalfields Ltd., located 160 Kms from Nagpur. The victim, a diabetic and hypertensive also had poor skin condition.
Dr. S. Singh, Dy. CMO and Orthopedic surgeon, using a C arm image intensifier, successfully performed interlock nailing for Tibia and one-third tubular plating for Fibular fixation under spinal anaesthesia, in a four hour long surgery, after controlling the diabetes, hypertension and wound management .
