In a new CSR initiative Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. in association with Gram Vikas has developed a self sustained comprehensive water supply & sanitation program for 375 households in five villages in Jharsuguda and Sundargarh in Odisha.
In this program, MCL has constructed toilets and bath rooms. It has also established a village level water supply system and piped water connection to every household.
This has enabled a 24×7 piped water supply to 375 households in five villages. The water source was tested for bacteria, nitrate and fluoride contamination to ensure good quality and safe drinking water.
With this 375 households now have a toilet and bath room facilities and five villages are now open defecation free.
