Coal India Limited Chairman PM Prasad on Sunday visited Ib Valley Coalfields and inspected coal mining and despatch operations.
Shri Prasad, who was on his maiden visit to Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) after taking over the charge of Coal India Chairman, was received by JK Bohra, Director (Technical/Operations) along with AK Behura, Director (Finance) and AS Bapat, Director (Technical/Projects & Planning).
After chairing a meeting of Corporate Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of MCL, Shri Prasad visited Belpahar opencast project and Lakhanpur opencast project and inspected mining operations.
The Chairman also visited an upcoming Ib Valley Coal Washey under Lakhanpur Area, the largest non-coking coal washery of 10 MTPA in Coal India, and took stock of situation.
He was briefed on coal beneficiation process and operational arrangements at the washery, which slated to start operations this year.
Shri Prasad also inspected the under-construction New Y-curve Railway Siding, which will help increase coal despatch from Samleshwari OCP of Ib Valley Area.
