Partha Mazumder, RED ER-II, highlighted the significance of GEM as a shining testament to the company’s steadfast dedication towards fostering positive change, uplifting spirits, and empowering girls within the local communities. He commended the station’s unique initiative of planting trees in the names of the girls.
Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon, highlighted the focus on outbound training as a crucial aspect of the program, which aimed to expose the girls to diverse experiences and enhance their personal growth.
The two-hour-long program showcased impressive performances by the girls, including a skit on Assam’s youngest freedom fighter “Kanaklata Barua,” fusion dance, Bagarumba (a cultural dance of Bodoland), poetry, group songs, and a display of self-defense skills.
On the following day, Karunakar Das presented certificates and framed photographs to the girls, symbolizing their successful completion of the program.
