Korba. NTPC, Korba management is flouting the district administration’s instructions. On the district administration’s instructions, notice has been served to vacate the accommodation allotted to state government employees and officers.
Many employees and officers of many departments of the district administration reside in the residential complex of NTPC, Korba. On the instructions of the district administration, they were allotted accommodation on monthly rent by the NTPC management. Now they have been served notice to vacate the accommodation within 15 days. It has been said in the notice that they have to vacate the accommodation within 15 days as required as per the rule and condition number 22 of the housing allotment order.
Whereas according to the written condition laid down by the NTPC management during housing allotment, it has been mentioned that the accommodation will be allotted as long as the posting is in the concerned department, school. Contrary to the conditions on which the NTPC management has allotted the houses, now notices have been served to vacate the houses.
In fact, NTPC management is demolishing 1300 old houses in Yamuna Vihar. In its notice, the management has asked to vacate the houses citing demolition. Whereas the houses which are being demolished were already vacant. Despite the demolition of 1300 houses, there are surplus houses in the NTPC residential complex. Regular manpower in NTPC is very less. Most of the work in the plant and outside the plant is done through outsourcing. The district administration has directed the industrial establishments of the district to allot houses to the employees and officers of the state government.
A large number of unauthorized people are also occupying the houses of NTPC, Chhattisgarh Power Company, BALCO, SECL. These also include such government employees and officers whose posting is not in the district.
The management of industrial establishments does not take action against such people to vacate the houses. In this regard, information was sought from Ushma Ghosh, Public Relations Officer of NTPC, Korba through WhatsApp, but she did not give any response.
