In the run-up to this year’s International Women’s Day, SECL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HLL Management Academy (HMA) to improve menstrual hygiene management for school girls in 22 Government Schools.

The agreement focuses on the installation and commissioning of 43 sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators, along with the provision of sanitary napkins, across multiple educational institutions located around SECL’s Jamuna Kotma, Johilla, Raigarh, Sohagpur and Bishrampur Areas.

The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Personnel), SECL. The MoU was signed by Shri Shamnad DVP, Division Head, HMA and Shri C.K. Pathak, General Manager (Civil), SECL. Officials from SECL’s CSR Department and HMA were also present in the ceremony.

As part of this initiative, 43 menstrual hygiene awareness sessions will also be conducted for a total of 6,656 beneficiary girls from the selected Higher Secondary, High Schools and Government Residential Schools.

The project, which will span over a period of three years, aims to promote better health and hygiene practices among young girls, thereby supporting their educational journey and overall well-being.

This collaboration aligns with SECL’s ongoing commitment for health and nutrition theme, as directed by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).

By enhancing menstrual hygiene awareness and providing essential sanitary products, SECL aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young girls and contribute to their holistic development.
