Nagpur. On the second day of the 19th triennial convention of Akhil Bharatiya Khadan Mazdoor Sangh (ABKMS), the industrial unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, on 13 February, the Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, was present as the chief guest.

On this occasion, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Coal Industry Incharge K. Laxma Reddy, Deputy General Secretary Surendra Kumar Pandey, President of Akhil Bharatiya Khadan Mazdoor Sangh Tikeshwar Singh Rathore, General Secretary Sudhir Ghurde were present on the stage.

About 800 representatives from 10 states have participated in the convention going on at Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan, Reshimbag. On Thursday, while addressing the officials and workers of the union, G Kishan Reddy, Coal and Mines Minister of the Government of India, said that the Akhil Bharatiya Khadan Mazdoor Sangh is an organization working with nationalist ideology in the coal sector.

He said that from the establishment of the Akhil Bharatiya Khadan Mazdoor Sangh in 1970 till today, the organization has worked to take the country forward for the national interest and the benefit of the workers. Due to the hard work of the coal workers and the strong support of the workers’ organization, today Coal India is moving towards the coal production target of one billion.

The Coal Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is working with commitment for the safety and welfare of the employees working in the coal mine. A plan to increase underground mining is also being prepared by the government so that more and more employment opportunities are created and the environment is protected.

Praising the Akhil Bharatiya Khadan Mazdoor Sangh, he said that the union has two eyes. One eye looks at the interest of the country while the other eye looks at the interest of the workers. He said that at present, coal workers have been given insurance benefits through banks. Similarly, in the coming days, a policy is being made to provide uniforms to coal workers working in the mines and to pay for their washing expenses.

Formation of new executive

On the second day of the convention, the new executive of All India Mine Workers Union was formed in which responsibility was given to President Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary CCL, Working President Ranjan Behera MCL, Vice President Angad Upadhyay ECL, Varsha Pudke WCL, General Secretary Sujit Singh SECL, Deputy General Secretary Ashish Murthy WCL, Organization Secretary Ashok Kumar Mishra NCL, Secretary P Madhav Nayak SCCL, Krishna Kumar Singh BCCL, Sushmita Patel MCL, Treasurer Jayant Asole and Co-Treasurer Mangesh Ajmere WCL.
