Kolkata (IP News). ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence was launched today at Coal India’s corporate office at Kolkata, with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Sanjiv Soni, Director, Finance, CIL, S. N. Tiwary, Director, Marketing / P&IR, CIL and Saroj Kumar Sadangi, CVO, CIL.
CIL and its companies will celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ for the next 75 weeks. Varied thematic activities have been shortlisted, with active engagement of employees, school children, women, panchayati raj members and peripheral rural population. Some of the events scheduled, include a debate by school children on Vision 2047, Kisan mela, and Choupal interaction with Panchayati Raj members. Also prominently featured in the activities list are two signature themes of Coal India – ‘Project Coal Swajal’ which entails utilization of mine water and ‘Project Taru Jivika’ which is about livelihood through social forestry.
