The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) exchanged between BEML LTD. and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) sets the stage for a transformative journey aimed at fostering self-reliance and driving innovation in the critical domain of train control management systems. This pioneering collaboration between two of India’s major Defence PSUs underscores their commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
At a ceremony held at the BEML headquarters, distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director of BEML, and Shri Manoj Jain, Director (R&D) representing BEL, along with other senior officials from both organizations, marked this momentous occasion.
The primary objective of this partnership is to identify potential areas of cooperation and jointly develop high-value products and solutions tailored to the specific requirements of Indian Railways and Metro systems. By focusing on indigenous development, this collaboration aims to reduce dependency on imported technology and bolster self-sufficiency in meeting the future needs of rail projects across the country.
The Train Control Management System (TCMS), often hailed as the “brain of the train,” will play a pivotal role in coordinating control and monitoring across various systems.
