In pursuance of the Prime Minister’s vision to make India self-reliant, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) organised BHEL SAMVAAD 3.0 – the third edition of its dialogue with domestic business partners, industry associations, academia, research institutes, government organisations and other ministries like CEA, DoE, DPIIT, and MoP, MoSteel and MeitY, etc. at Bharat Mandapam. The theme of the event, organised under the aegis of Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), was ‘Development powered by Research and Innovation’.
In his address, Union Minister of Heavy Industries, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey citing the clarion call of the Hon’ble Prime Minister for being ‘Vocal for Local’, exhorted the fraternity to come out with solutions on the challenges faced and focus on achieving the aspiration of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He released a booklet on ‘Annual Capacity Building Plan (ACBP)’ of MHI outlining key strategic areas with year-wise capacity building initiatives within Ministries, Departments and Organisations (MDOs) in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Mission Karmayogi. He also unveiled BHEL’s R&D compendium titled ‘Anusandhan se Aatmanirbharta’ on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Kamran Rizvi, Secretary (HI) shared that the ministry of Heavy Industries is working extensively towards providing an ecosystem for the growth of the capital goods and automotive industries. He also lauded the significant role of BHEL in shaping the industrial landscape in the country by developing and manufacturing a wide range of power generation, transmission, transportation and defence equipment and technologies which has helped reduce India’s dependence on imports. Sh. Rizvi said that initiatives like ‘BHEL Samvaad’ stand testimony to the company’s commitment towards AatmaNirbhar Bharat.
In his address, Sh. Vijay Mittal, Joint Secretary (HI) appreciated the outcomes that have emerged from SAMVAAD 1.0 and 2.0 and the pivotal role played by BHEL to manufacture products within India leading to import substitution and development of indigenous vendor ecosystem. He appreciated BHEL’s efforts to organise SAMVAAD 3.0, an inclusive event with a bigger outreach and scope to connect more partners.
Earlier, welcoming the delegates, Sh. Koppu Sadashiv Murthy, CMD, BHEL called upon all stakeholders to constructively engage in productive discussions in the technical sessions, incubate ideas, and foster an environment that encourages open communication and mutual understanding.
The star performers among BHEL’s success partners who have contributed to the cause of Aatmanirbhar Bharat were felicitated on the occasion by Hon’ble Union Minister of Heavy Industries, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey.
During the event, Sh. Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (E, R&D) and Director (Fin.) – Addl. Charge touched upon the various technical sessions held in BHEL SAMVAAD 3.0 and thanked all stakeholders for their active participation and success of the event.
