New Delhi (IP News). In the consultation meeting held by Ministry of Labour on Labour Code Rules, BMS demanded that the wage definition limiting allowances to 50% of total salary should not be frozen, since it is the mandate of the Supreme Court in Vivekananda Vidyalaya case of 2019. Group 4 Security case previously has mandated 100% allowances to be part of the salary.
The meeting was Chaired by Union Minister of Labour & Employment (I/C) Santosh Gangwar. Senior officials like Labour Secretary Apoorva Chandra, Addl Secretary Smt Anuradha Prasad and others participated.
It was a Tripartite Consultations which was attended by both Employers Associations and Trade Unions representatives. The Consultations were initiated by Pawan Kumar BMS.
On behalf of Vice President BMS S Mallesam, All India Secretary Smt Nilima Chimote have presented BMS Views on Wage Code rules & IR Code rules respectively. All India Organising Secretary B Surendran leading the delegation by Physically presenting at the meeting.
SP Tiwari from TUCC and Deepak Jaiswal from NFITU spoke. Ashok Singh of INTUC spoke on behalf of 10 Central Trade Unions.
The active participation and arguments of BMS have changed the course & direction of the delibarations. The Hon. Minister has accepted to discuss only TWO Codes today and another TWO codes on 12 January 2021. BMS also vehemently opposed the Employers Organisations’ demand on relooking into wage definition at which they desired to exempt all types of allowances adding in Wages.
