Kolkata : 12 June : Speaking at an ‘Evening of Discourse Talk’ organised by MGMI in Kolkata Pramod Agrawal, Chairman CIL, said that the unified, concerted efforts of CIL as a team helped the company excel in its all-round performance. He highlighted that CIL has the wherewithal to face the upcoming challenges and deliver the coal demand expected from it. He also asked MGMI to take a more proactive role, with its experience and potential, in suggesting productive policy guidelines not only for the coal industry but for other industries as well.
Partha S. Bhattacharyya, former Chairman of CIL, delivering the evening’s discourse, said that CIL’s production growth of 13% in FY’23 was phenomenal and unheard of. What is crucial for CIL now is that, with the issue of quantity supplies successfully taken care of, the company’s concentrated focus should be on coal quality, he added.
Dr. B. Veera Reddy, D (T) CIL and President MGMI, stated in his welcome address that CIL is embracing a host of the latest technologies, foraying into digitization and automated processes, and is committed to ramping up its UG output to 100 MT by FY 2028. He said that the systemic improvements during the last 3 years until FY 2023 witnessed production, offtake, and supplies to the power sector go up by 101 MT, 113 MT, and 121 MT, respectively.
