Coal India Limited Chairman P. M. Prasad visited SECL’s CIC coalfields on March 22-23, 2025, to assess mining operations, sustainability initiatives, and future growth plans.
On March 22 after his visit to SECL megaprojects, Shri Prasad took stock of mining activities at Chirimiri OC under Chirimiri Area. He reached SECL Baikunthpur Area where he held discussions with Area General Managers of Baikunthpur, Bishrampur, and Bhatgaon Areas regarding current and future mine development strategies.
He also visited the Churcha Mine R.O., inspected mining operations at Rajnagar OCM and visited eco-restoration park Ananya Vatika in Hasdeo Area.
Post his visit to Hasdeo Area Shri Prasad reached J&K Area where he held another meeting with AGMs of other Areas under CIC fields and discussed production-productivity.
On March 23, his visit continued in the Jamuna Kotma area, where he assessed mining activities at Amadand OCM. He also reviewed various environmental and sustainability measures, including fly ash dumping, mine closure planning, and large-scale plantation at reclamation patches in Harrad and Daikhal.
After concluding his visit to J&K Area Shri Prasad also took stock of mining operations at Saraipali OC of Korba Area.
Emphasizing increased production and productivity, Shri Prasad discussed operational strategies for the upcoming financial year. Additionally, he highlighted the welfare of contractual workers and the implementation of the Corporate Salary Package to enhance workforce benefits.
