Delivering the 62nd Holland Memoral lecture in virtual mode at the National Seminar on the theme ‘ Meeting the Challenges- Blue Hydrogen’ organized by MGMI, Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary (Coal), said the Nation’s Energy Security is a priority and that Coal will continue to play a significant role in meeting the country’s energy needs in the coming years. As a result, clean coal utilisation is essential and crucial for sustainable development.
Pramod Agarwal, Chairman CIL, in his special address elaborated on the Energy challenges and underlined the need for sustainable fossil fuel consumption in the future, where blue hydrogen will be crucial.
He pointed out that while Blue Hydrogen could replace Grey in between until Green becomes cheaper, Green is going to be the dominant option in the future. He also reiterated Coal India’s commitment to support research and development efforts in the field of blue hydrogen.
Dr. B. Veera Reddy Director (Technical) CIL, elaborated on the importance of hosting lectures, workshops, as such intellectual discussions benefit the overall growth of mining industry.
