New Delhi: Cmde Saurav Deb is set to be next Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NEPA Limited (National Newsprint and Paper Mills Limited), a PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises. He has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. He is currently serving as Commander in the Indian Navy. The CMD post in NEPA Limited is vacant since November 1, 2019.
Deb has been recommended to be the next CMD of NEPA Limited from a list of four candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. Other candidates were from NEPA Limited, Hindustan Newsprint Limited and THDC India Limited.
As CMD of NEPA Limited, Deb will be chief executive of the company and will be accountable to its board of directors and the government/shareholders. He also will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the company, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.
