Coal India Limited inked a MoU with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for the “setting up of multi-skill Skill Development Institutes (MSDIs)” in the command areas of Coal India’s subsidiary companies.
One MSDI will be set up in each subsidiary, with CCL, BCCL, MCL, NCL, and SECL being covered in the first phase and the remaining subsidiaries in the second phase. This initiative reflects CIL’s commitment to foster skill development and create sustainable employment for the local youth in coal-bearing areas.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Ms. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, Vinay Ranjan, Director (P&IR), Coal India Limited and Manoj Kumar, CMD, EdCIL (India) Ltd. Directors’ (Personnel) from CIL’s subsidiaries and senior officials from Ministry of Coal and other coal companies were present on the occasion.
