As various government organizations, individuals and NGOs are extending their hands towards hapless people affected by COVID-19, Coal India Limited also came forward to help people in Kolkata. As the state is going through strict restrictions, attendants and family members of Covid patients admitted at hospitals in the city find it difficult to arrange their own food as most eateries are closed.
Coal India Limited, as a part of their corporate social responsibility, has roped in ISCON to cook and distribute around 5 thousand packed meals everyday. The Executive Director, in charge of community development at Coal India Limited, B Sairam told AIR News that the initiative had been taken two days back and will continue initially for 15 days.
