New Delhi, 28 November : Coal India Limited joins the World Coal Association (WCA). The WCA, is committed to build a sustainable future for global coal and plays an active role in for clean coal usage, technology and innovation.
Speaking at the Association’s first Board Meeting in India, Shri Pramod Agrawal, Chairman Coal India said that Coal continues to play a pivotal role in India as it is the most dependable and affordable fuel.
He added that CIL is committed to the sustainable use of coal and address climate change responsibly so as to ensure equitable energy for all.
Addressing the Board, Michelle Manook, WCA CEO observed that 99 % of coal emissions can be eliminated through abatement technologies and processes which currently exist. Mr. July Ndlovu, Chairman WCA said Coal India is a global leader and as the world’s largest coal producer understands the coal eco system and the need to collaborate.
