Kolkata (IP News). Coal India Ltd entered into an MoU with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, EESL (A JV company under Ministry of Power) on 4th February, 2021 for a strategic partnership to collaborate in the areas of Energy efficiency and resource conservation for de carbonisation. .
The MoU was executed between the two companies through virtual mode at Kolkata and New Delhi in presence of Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL at Kolkata and Anil Jain, Secretary (Coal) at New Delhi. Sanjiv Soni, Director (Finance), CIL and Venkatesh Dwivedi, Director, Projects & Business Development, EESL signed the MoU document.
By signing this MoU, CIL, aims to reduce its costs by 10-15% of CIL ‘s total expense of Rs 3400 crore on account of consumption of 4600 MU of energy yearly.
This MoU, shall enable both companies to explore business opportunities in the field of energy efficiency, Electric Vehicle hiring including establishment of charging station, solar power generation, RAISE, Green energy building, smart energy solution etc. EESL shall also help CIL conduct Energy audit and undertake assignments to minimize the losses on account of energy through financial ESCO/RESCO model.
