In recognition of their significant contribution towards India’s achievement of 1 billion tonnes of total coal production, two employees of SECL were felicitated by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal & Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, and the Hon’ble Minister of State for Coal & Mines, Shri Satish Chandra Dubey.

On March 27, 2025, during the 12th round of the Commercial Coal Mine Auction event held in New Delhi, various employees from Coal India Limited’s subsidiaries were honored for their contributions to this historic milestone of 1 billion tonnes of coal production in India.

In the officer category, Shri Prashant Sharma (General Manager, Mining), working as Sub-Area Manager in Bijuri Sub-Area of Hasdeo Area, was honored for his efficient operation and early achievement of targets in Baherabandh and Bijuri Underground Mines.

In the employee category, Shri Rajesh Kumar Patil, Senior Overman at Jagannathpur Opencast Mine in Bhathgaon Area, was awarded for his significant contribution toward achieving the overburden (OB) removal target of the mine.

On this occasion, SECL’s Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), Shri Harish Duhan, congratulated both employees, appreciating their dedication, commitment, and excellent work ethic. He termed this a moment of pride for the entire SECL family and encouraged all employees to continue working with the same energy and dedication.
