Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Coal, Mines & Parliamentary Affairs, launched the ‘Coal Logistics Plan & Policy’ in New Delhi. This comprehensive plan & policy aims to foster the growth of coal logistics infrastructure nationwide.
This includes the creation and development of key projects like first mile connectivity, augmentation of rail evacuation capacities, and transportation of coal through waterways.

Prasad, Chairman, Coal India, B.P. Pati, Joint Secretary, Govt. of India, Ministry of Coal, Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Marketing), CIL, along with senior officials of Ministry of Coal and Coal India, were present on the occasion.
Coal India has been fuelling the Nation’s progress through the creation of diverse infrastructure projects in recent years.
The company has constructed and commissioned 6 railway lines, extending over 374 km, with a coal evacuation capacity of 215 MTPA. Fifteen (15) first mile connectivity (FMC) projects, capable of evacuating 201.5 million tonnes of coal per annum, have also been created in the last five years.
The commissioning of 3 new coking coal washeries with a total capacity of 11.6 MTPA further underscores the company’s commitment to building new infrastructure for the Nation’s development.
