Korba, 18 December. The district unit of the Indian Media Journalists Union (IMJU) has been formed. Senior journalist Mohammed Sadique Sheikh has been appointed as District President & District General Secretary (Organization) Kailash Yadav.
The District Executive Committee has been announced with the recommendation of Union State President Anil Pusadkar and General Secretary (Organization) Naushad Khan.
District Executive Committee officials are as follows: Chairman Mohammed Sadique Sheikh, Senior Vice President Vijay Kshetrapal, Vice President Sudhir Rajput, Laxmikant Joshi, Ranvijay Singh, Treasurer Abdul Aslam, General Secretary (Organization) Kailash Yadav, General Secretary Arvind Pandey, Suresh Dewangan, Nawab Hussain, Bhagwati Bhandari, Secretary Suvendu Sheet, Dolly Singh, Neelam Das Padwar, Ramesh Verma, Vikas Pandey, Laxman Mahant, District Executive Member Shailesh Agarwal, Aslam Sheikh, Guneshwar Tamarkar.
President Mohammed Sadique Sheikh said that the aim of the union is to protect the interests of journalists by working for welfare. The union will also be associated with creative works. The Indian Media Journalist Union is active in 21 states of the country.
General Secretary (Organization) Kailash Yadav said that active journalists associated with print, electronic and digital media can become a member of the union. Extending the union, an executive will be formed at the tehsil level soon.
Giving information, Treasurer Abdul Aslam said that the membership of the union can be charged by filling the prescribed form and the one time fee. The member is provided with an identity card and the insurance is covered.
