ECL is observing Quality Awareness Fortnight 2025 focusing on sidings and weighbridges from 15th to 29th April, 2025.
In this regard a team from ECL HQ visited S.P. Mines Area for inspection. Shri A.K. Anand, Area General Manager, S.P. Mines Area, ECL extended a warm welcome to the visiting team memebers which included Shri C.C. Mukherjee, Sr. Manager, Quality Control, Shri D. Goswami. Sr. Manager, Quality Control and Shri R.N. Kutum Manager, E&M Department, ECL HQ.
The inspection team visited the Jamtara Siding, the road and rail bridges of S.P. Mines Area, and the Area Coal Testing Laboratory.
During the visit, Shri A.K. Anand emphasized the crucial role of coal quality in both rail and road dispatches. He highlighted the importance of maintaining weighbridges in optimal condition, ensuring proper documentation, and implementing the weighbridge Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Area Quality Manager, S.P. Mines Area, emphasized the significance of consistent quality standards and also expalined that consumer complaints regarding coal quality are being addressed as a priority.
The session was attended by employess from S.P. Mines Area, ECL included the Area Safety Manager, Assistant Engineer (E&M) / Nodal Officer (Weighbridge), Area Quality Manager, Transport Manager and Siding In-charge of S.P. Mines Area, ECL.
