Shyamsundarpur Colliery of Bankola Area, Eastern Coalfields Limited bagged the 1st position in the category ‘Coal Belowground Large’ at the Mines Safety Awards (MSA) 2024 held on 28th July, 2024 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata.
The prize was handed over to Shri Samiran Dutta, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, ECL and Shri Niladri Roy, Director (Technical), ECL by Shri Prabhat Kumar, Director General, DGMS.
The “Mines Safety Awards (MSA) 2024” is a first-of-its-kind national-level event designed to promote best practices and enhance safety in mining operations across the country. It has been initiated by All India Mines Safety Association (AIMSA) under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) along with Coal India Limited.
Shri Prabhat Kumar, Director General, DGMS was the Chief Guest at the event and Shri P.M. Prasad, Chairman, CIL presided over the function. CEOs/ CMDs of different Mining, Metal and Oil companies of India were present at this event along with all Deputy Director General of DGMS.
Executives from Eastern Coalfields Limited such as Area General Manager of Bankola Area along with Agent, Area Safety Officer, General Manager (Safety), ECL HQ and ISO of ECL were also present in the award function. Working Model of Longwall and Continuous Miner was also displayed during the event at the exhibition stall.
