New Delhi (IP News). Northern Coalfields Limited has been conferred National Safety Award (Mines) 2015 & 2016 for being accident free for the longest duration and having the lowest injury frequency rate.
Vice President of India M.Venkaiah Naidu presented the award to NCL at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday. CMD NCL Shri Prabhat Kumar Sinha received the award on behalf of NCL. Minister of State (Independent Charge), Labour & Employment, Government of India was also present on the occasion.
On this occasion, Director (Technical/Operations) Gunadhar Pandey, Director (Technical/Project & Planning) M.K.Prasad, General Manager Kakri L.P.Godse, General Manager (Safety) Sapan Srivastava, Trade Union Representative Shivmuni Singh and L.B.Singh were also present on behalf of NCL.
Notably, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India gives away ‘National Safety Awards’ since 1965 to promote safe industrial activities, workers’ health & well-being. In recognition to excellence and commitment displayed by Kakri coal area of NCL, it was declared winner of LAFP Longest Accident Free Period (LAFP) for the year 2015 and runner-up for LIFRM (Lowest Injury Frequency Rate per lakh Manshift) for the year 2016
