NTPC and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) signs Co-user Agreement for Shivpur Railway siding at Jharkhand
In pursuance of the Co-user Agreement, NTPC will use one section of CCL’s Shivpur Railway Siding for stacking, loading and transportation of coal from Chatti Bariatu and Kerandari coal mines, through rail network to various power stations across the country, as an interim arrangement for 3 years.
NTPC’s proposed Railway siding at Urda, connecting to the Shivpur- Kathautia line at Dhangada/ Simariya is under developmental stage by East Central Railways. Till readiness of this siding, NTPC will transport coal to Shivpur Railway siding from Chatti Bariatu and Kerandari coal mines by road as an interim measure.
The Co-user Agreement was signed by Aseem Mishra, AGM (Mining-Kerandari), NTPC and Ajit Singh, General Manager (M&S), CCL in the august presence of P. M. Prasad, CMD, CCL, Partha Mazumder RED (Coal Mining), NTPC Limited and other senior officials from both the companies.
NTPC has started coal production from it’s 4th. coal mine, Chatti-Bariatu, from 29.09.2022. NIT for appointment of MDO for Kerandari is published and mining operations shall start in next 6/7 months’ time.
