NTPC Dulanga, commenced its Annual Mines Safety Fortnight with an impressive inauguration ceremony on the 5th January, 2024. The event, marked by enthusiasm and commitment, was graced by the Chief Guest, Head of Project, NTPC Dulanga, Shri K Chandrasekhar, alongside senior officials of NTPC Dulanga and Sainik Mining and Allied Services workers.
The highlight of the inauguration was the ceremonial unfurling of the Safety Flag within the mine premises by Shri K Chandrasekhar, signifying the paramount importance of safety. Further enhancing the safety commitment, the Chief Guest flagged off the Suraksha Rath – a symbolic gesture towards reinforcing a secure working environment.
In a collective show of dedication, all participants took a solemn oath to embrace a safe working style, collectively striving towards making the mines a ‘zero’ accident area. The Heads of Departments delivered impactful speeches underscoring the significance of mine safety, setting the tone for the fortnight-long safety celebration.
Post the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest and dignitaries proceeded to inaugurate a state-of-the-art Stimulator in the Vocational Training Centre. This initiative aims to enhance workers’ driving skills, ensuring a higher level of safety in day-to-day operations.
Adding a unique touch to the safety awareness drive, a Prabhat Pheri was also organized in the early morning hours. Shri Prabhakar Choudhary, Mine Agent, Shri Sadananda Chary, Mine Manager, and Shri Rajesh Ranjan, Safety Officer, led the procession to increase awareness about mine safety among the workforce.
The event marks the commencement of the 14-day Annual Mines Safety Fortnight celebrations at NTPC Dulanga. Throughout the fortnight, a series of engaging activities and competitions will be organized, coupled with discussions and demonstrations on day-to-day safety measures, aimed at providing a secure working environment for all workers.
