Noida (IP News). NTPC Family gave a warm farewell to Susanta Kumar Roy, Director (Projects) on his superannuation on 29th November 2019. The farewell function was held at PMI Noida and was attended by large section of employees in person and through video conferencing. Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC, while lauding his contributions towards NTPC, appreciated Shri Roy as simple, dedicated and committed person. He lauded Shri Roy’s acumen in handling and executing projects with efficiency and within the stipulated deadlines. Saptarshi Roy, Director (HR) while describing Shri Roy ‘as a Complete Power Professional’ said that the organization will greatly benefit from his contribution and the team he has prepared to serve NTPC for future. A K Gupta, Director (Commercial) appreciated Shri Roy’s immense contribution to NTPC. He said, Shri Roy is an accomplished professional who has achieved so much in his 38 year long service at NTPC. In his tenure, NTPC witnessed the commissioning of its first Ultra Super Critical Power Plant. He also applauded the problem solving approach of Shri Roy. Prakash Tiwari , Director (Operations) described Shri S K Roy as a person with exceptional engineering capabilities and a role model for majority of colleagues and others at NTPC. A. K. Gautam, Director (Finance) lauded Shri Roy for his ‘Can-do Spirit’. He also highlighted the achievement of Shri Roy in earning the additional 0.5% return on equity for the Company on commissioning of Unit 13 at Vindhyachal unit of NTPC. In his address, Rajit Punhani, Chief Vigilance Officer described Shri Roy as a professional with great clarity of thought and purpose. Susanta Kumar Roy, Director (Projects) in his farewell address expressed his gratitude towards colleagues and mentors and recalled his illustrious journey at NTPC. He expressed that NTPC, his second home, as a great place to work and wished NTPC for all its future endeavours The Welcome address for the evening was delivered by C.K. Mondal, RED (DBF) and ED(PP&M). The function ended with presentation of memento to Shri Roy and ‘Vote of Thanks’.
