NTPC Kaniha has successfully undergone the NBEM Assessment 2024, conducted from January 7 to 11, 2025. The assessment team, led by Shri Animesh Kumar Sarkar, Quality Champion, and former ED, BHEL, comprised esteemed members, including Shri Ajoy Kumar Keshri, Sr. Assessor, and former GM, NTPC, along with Assessors from other NTPC stations, namely Shri A Siva Kumar, Shri Rajeev Kumar Jha, Shri Pranav Verma, and Shri Rakesh Kumar Gaurav.
The assessment process commenced with an opening meeting, attended by senior officials, including Shri A K Sehgal, BUH, NTPC Kaniha, Shri C S Rama Krishna, GM (O&M), and Shri S S Rao, GM (Maint. & ADM). Team Kaniha delivered a world-class opening presentation, earning applause from the assessment team.
During the assessment, the team visited various facilities, including the Safety Park, CHP Wagon Tippler, Central Stores, Workshop, ETP, CSSP, Miyawaki site, Township Hospital, smritivan, medicinal park, STP, rainwater harvesting site, Tanvi Sangam, nearby villages under CSR, Ash Dyke, and Mine Void affected villages.
They also assessed all departments and interacted with various stakeholders, including HOP, women employees, young executives, QC & PC teams, Unions & Associations, CISF, ICH, suppliers/vendors/partners, and agency workers.
The team appreciated the hard efforts put in by the top management of Kaniha in all fronts to become a sustainable power station. They also commended the station’s vision 2025 and beyond, which covers the entire gamut of performance of a thermal power station.
After four days of extensive exercise, the assessment process ended on January 11, 2025, with a closing presentation. The team highly appreciated the management of NTPC Kaniha, highlighting its many areas of strength and asking them to continue their excellent work. They also greatly appreciated the hospitality services and cooperation extended by the entire team Kaniha for the successful completion of the assessment.
