Korba, 7 November : The 49th Foundation Day of NTPC Limited was celebrated with great pomp on 7 November 2023 at Korba Super Thermal Power Station. Madhu S, Business Unit Head (Korba) hoisted the NTPC flag in the Vikas Bhawan premises and congratulated the employees present during the event.
It is a happy coincidence that the foundation day of NTPC Korba project is a
today. “I wish the company, its employees and their families a bright, happy and prosperous future,” said Mr. Madhu S.
Along with the hoisting of the NTPC flag, all the NTPC employees sang the NTPC geet. A cake was also cut on this occasion.
Shri Madhu S, Business Unit Head (Korba) in his address said that NTPC was established on 07 November 1975 with the objective of providing uninterrupted and assured electricity to the nation. Today, NTPC has grown from strength to strength over the last 49 years and has established itself as a leading power company in the power sector with presence across the entire value chain of power generation business globally, which is thanks to the commitment and dedication of the members of team NTPC. This has become possible only because of efficiency and creativity of all its employees. We have taken important initiatives to advance our production as well as eco-friendly renewable energy, which will ensure continued success in the future.
Shri Madhu S, Business Unit Head (Korba) said that today is a proud day for us, because today we are celebrating our 49th establishment day as a 73,824 MW company, starting from zero on 07 November 1975.
In the same session, he said that today NTPC is not only in the business of thermal power generation, but it is also contributing to the development of the country by producing electricity through gas, solar, hydro, wind etc. NTPC is working rapidly in the field of Renewable and Solar Energy. NTPC aims to achieve 130 GW capacity by 2032.
Despite being 40 years old, our Korba station continues to perform well. We have proven our efficiency in all important parameters. Till October 2023, the performance of the Korba project has been an achievement. We have produced 11,887.857 Million Units with 89.02% PLF by the end of October. Our availability during this period has been 93.36%.
Due to the excellent working style of the project, it has received awards in various fields like Environment, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Power plant Performance, CSR, Public Relation etc. The credit for receiving all the awards goes to every member of the Korba team.
Recently Hindi Fortnight, Cleanliness Fortnight and Vigilance Awareness Week were celebrated. During this period, we organized various activities not only in NTPC but also in schools and colleges of Korba. The employees who participated and won prizes were also awarded today on the occasion of the Foundation Day.
Shri Madhu S, Business Unit Head (Korba) appreciated the continuous cooperation and contribution received from every member of Team Korba and partner agencies as well as CISF, District Administration, Social Organization, Welfare Bodies, Maitri Mahila Samiti, Union and Association.
Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC Limited, congratulated all the NTPC employees on the occasion of 49th Raising Day of NTPC Limited through video conferencing which was broadcasted at the HOP Conference Hall at Vikas Bhawan.
On this occasion, GM (Project Construction) Shri Anoop Kumar Mishra, GM (Maintenance) Shri Somnath Bhattacharjee, GM (Ash Dyke Management) Shri Manish Vasant Sathe, GM (Medical) Dr. Lokesh Mahendra, all HOD’s, DRO’s, Commandant, CISF Shri Abhishek Chaudhary and CISF team of NTPC Korba, Union & Association officials and NTPC Korba employees were present.
