Korba, 16 August : On the occasion of Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75th anniversary of Independence, Chief General Manager of NTPC Korba PM Jena hoisted the flag at Mansarovar Stadium, giving the message of greetings of Independence Day.
After hoisting the flag, Shri Jena while addressing the gathering said, “I feel proud to stand under the tricolor in this huge courtyard of Mansarovar Stadium and wish you all a very Happy Independence Day. Our country is celebrating 75 years of independence this year as the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. We are proud that as NTPC personnel, we got an opportunity to serve the nation through the generation of electricity under essential services in the difficult situation of Corona.
We generated electricity every day without stopping and when people were confined in their homes during the lock down, we made our contribution by lighting their homes and providing uninterrupted electricity to health services. Today our Maharatna company has an installed capacity of 69433 MW and our company aims to achieve a capacity of more than one hundred and thirty GW by 2032. We are also moving fast in the field of renewable energy and we aim to add 60 GW of renewable energy by 2032. In the first quarter of the financial year 2022-23, our company generated 104.4 billion units of electricity. Along with the basic goal of power generation, NTPC is also committed to social causes. Social works are being carried out continuously in the project affected villages through CSR”.
After the address, the national anthem was sung and the parade was inspected. Outstanding employees, students of township schools, and CISF personnel were awarded in the program.
In the end, all the special guests distributed artificial limbs for the differently-abled people and distributed fruits to the patients of the hospital and wished for their speedy recovery.
