Korba, 19 SeptembeR : NTPC Korba took a significant step towards promoting cleanliness by participating in the Swachhta Pakhwada under the theme “Garbage Free India.” The pledge ceremony was presided over by GM (O&M) Shri Arnab Maitra, alongside GM (FM) Shri SP Singh and other senior officials and employees.
The initiative is a continuation of the vision set forth by the Hon’ble Prime Minister during his address from the Red Fort on August 15, 2014, which emphasized the importance of Swachhata as a national priority. Following this, the Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on October 2, 2014, mobilizing citizens and institutions alike in a collective effort towards sanitation and cleanliness.
This year’s Swachhta Pakhwada aligns with the broader goal of achieving a “Garbage Free India.” NTPC Korba is committed to addressing cleanliness in severely neglected and high-risk areas, designated as Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs). These CTUs often include garbage points and dumpsites that pose significant environmental and health risks, and are typically overlooked during regular cleanliness drives.
Over the upcoming fortnight, NTPC Korba will undertake extensive cleanliness activities targeting these critical areas, ensuring that environmental sustainability and public health remain at the forefront of its initiatives.
Shri Arnab Maitra emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment, stating, “Swachhata is not just a duty; it is a way of life. Together, we can transform our surroundings and contribute to a healthier community.”
With this pledge, NTPC Korba reaffirms its commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission and encourages all employees and citizens to join hands in this vital effort.
