NTPC Korba Hospital marked World Cancer Day by organizing an awareness program to emphasize cancer prevention, early detection, timely treatment, and palliative care on 4 February 2025.

The initiative aimed to educate NTPC employees, their spouses, associates, and residents of nearby villages about the significance of proactive health measures in combating cancer.

The program was inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Khanna, BUH, NTPC Korba, who highlighted this year’s World Cancer Day theme (2025-27): “United by Unique.” In his address, he stressed the importance of early detection in improving cancer treatment outcomes and saving lives.

As part of NTPC Korba’s CSR initiative, a breast and cervical cancer screening camp was conducted for women from nearby villages. A total of 58 females underwent screening, with Pap smear tests conducted by Dr. Pratibha Archana Das and ultrasonography for breast cancer screening performed by Dr. Parimita Hura.

The initiative reinforced NTPC Korba’s commitment to public health and community well-being, ensuring access to preventive healthcare services for those in need.
