NTPC Lara, under its impactful initiative “Connecting Society” (EK Kadam Viksit Bharat Ki Ore), organized a grand community development program aimed at empowering different sections of society. The program focused on providing essential support to children, women, and elderly citizens to promote their well-being and development.
The event took place in the presence of several dignitaries including Chief Guest Sh. Anil Kumar (Executive Director, NTPC Lara), Shrimati Anuradha Sharma (President, Prerita Mahila Samiti), Sh. Ashutosh Satpathy (GM-O&M), Sh. Ravi Shankar (GM-Projects), Shrimati Archana Shankar and other senior executives of NTPC Lara, along with school students, teachers, and representatives and members from the local community.
In a bid to provide a better environment for learning and physical fitness, NTPC Lara distributed sports kits, school bags, and stationery about 100 students of Government School, Jurda. The initiative not only aimed to support their education but also emphasized the importance of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
During the event, blankets were distributed to over 100 senior citizens, as a measure to protect them from winter.
Towards enabling healthcare, accessible to the villagers at their doorstep, parallelly, a health check-up camp was organized through the Mobile Medical Unit, NTPC- Lara. The camp offered general health screenings such as sugar tests, haemoglobin tests, and other basic medical services.
Highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability, saplings of fruit-bearing trees were also distributed amongst students to encourage afforestation and promote environmental awareness.
The community members expressed their sincere appreciation for NTPC Lara’s proactive efforts in addressing their needs. From educational supplies for children to health services and environmental conservation, the event was seen as a holistic initiative towards community empowerment. The villagers extended their heartfelt gratitude to NTPC for making a significant difference in their lives.
In addition to Senior Executives, members of Prerita Mahila Samiti and family members of employees participated in the program aimed at “Connecting Society for a “Viksit Bharat”.
