Korba, 07 November : India’s largest integrated energy company, NTPC Limited, has entered its 48th year completing its golden 47 years. On Monday, 07 November 2022, NTPC Korba unit celebrated the 48th NTPC Foundation Day with enthusiasm.
Since its inception in the year 1975, NTPC Limited, which has been continuously active in the progress of the nation, is constantly scaling new heights.
P M Jena, Project Head, NTPC Korba inaugurated the foundation day program by hoisting the flag.
He said in his address that “Starting from zero in 1975, NTPC has reached a capacity of 70254 MW. Along with thermal, today we are contributing to the development by illuminating the country by producing electricity through all mediums like gas, solar, hydro, wind. We are working fast in the area of renewable and solar energy.
Korba Project Completes 40 Years: The Korba Project of NTPC Limited also completed 40 years of its inception on 07 November. After completing 40 golden years, NTPC Korba has created many records in power generation. The September plant load factor of the Korba project at 93.57% was the best among NTPC. Similarly, the monthly load factor stood at 96.67%. The oil consumption in Unit 2,3,5,6,7 is being met. The annual load factor stood at 97.5%.
By the end of October, the Korba unit produced 11849.834 million units with a PLF of 88.74%. The availability during this period was 91.08%. Sometimes 100% PLF was also earned.
CSR & Social Welfare a priority: Following NTPC Limited’s philosophy of ‘People Before PFL’, NTPC Korba is striving relentlessly for social welfare.
In the recently held girl empowerment campaign, 120 girls were given one month residential training. Mobile health clinic facility was started for the citizens living in rural areas. Along with uninterrupted power generation, social development works are also being carried out continuously by NTPC Korba.
On the occasion of Foundation Day celebrations, the employees who performed excellently were also rewarded. Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC Limited congratulated all NTPC personnel on the foundation day through video conferencing in the Chief General Manager conference room located at Administrative Building.
On this occasion B. Ramachandra Rao (Chief General Manager, O&M), LR Mohanty (General Manager, Operations), Madhu S (General Manager, Maintenance), Anoop Mishra (General Manager, Project Construction), Amber Kumar (General Manager, Rask Management), Shri Prabhat Ram (Department Head – Human Resources), Lokesh Mahendra (Chief Medical Officer), all Heads of Departments), CEISF Commandant Abhishek Chaudhary, office bearers and members of Union Association and a large number of NTPC personnel were present.
Blood Donation Camp was also organized: Along with this, a blood donation camp was also organized by the Medical Department on the occasion of Foundation Day. The Chief Guest of the program, NTPC Project Head Shri P M Jena and Maitri Mahila Samiti’s Chairperson, Rajshree Jena not only formally inaugurated the camp but also inspired all the people to donate blood by donating blood themselves.
The camp was organized in association with the Samvedna Blood Bank.
The camp was successfully organized under the able guidance of Chief Medical Officer Shri Lokesh Mahendra.
More than 57 people donated blood in the blood donation camp in which NTPC Chief General Manager (Operation & Maintenance) B. Ramachandra Rao, Madhu S (General Manager-Maintenance), Amber Kumar (General Manager-Rash Management), senior officials of Maitri Mahila Samiti Gan, CISF Commandant Abhishek Choudhary, Medical Department staff and other CISF employees were present.
