Ranchi. Partha Mazumder, Executive Director had been elevated as the Regional Executive Director (RED) and head of the Coal Mining Division of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
He would lead the coal mining projects of the company in Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh and Coal Mining with headquarters at Ranchi.
The order issued by the NTPC would come into effect from June 30, 2021.
In his illustrious career spanning about 36 years, Mazumder has served NTPC, a Maharatna Company, in various departments like Operation and Maintenance, Fuel Management, Technical Services at different Power Projects/Stations, and also in the Corporate Business Development, Consultancy Wing and Coal Mining.
Mazumder joined NTPC in the year 1985 as an Engineering Executive Trainee after graduating in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He also holds a PG Certificate in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur. He is a certified Level D in Project Management from IPMA (International Project Management Association).
Partha Mazumder had earlier worked in NTPC projects /offices like Korba, Farakka, Eastern Region-I Headquarter, Patna before joining the Coal Mining Group at Noida. Mazumder has held prominent positions as Head of Coal Mining, Business Development, and Consultancy Wing at Corporate Centre. He also headed Pakri-Barwadih, Talaipalli, Chatti-Bariattu & Kerandari Coal Mining projects.
Mazumder is also a nominated Director in NTPC Mining Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC; CIL-NTPC Urja Private Limited, a 50:50 Joint Venture Company of NTPC with Coal India Ltd. and Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Limited, a JV between Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. and NTPC Limited. A veteran in the power generation & coal mining sector, he brings with him rich experience along with dynamic leadership qualities.
