New Delhi, 03 October : 4th October is celebrated as World Animal Day to raise awareness about improving the welfare standards of animals across the globe.
To conserve the wildlife, PVUN Ltd has signed an MOU with Jharkhand Zoo Authority for adopting two Asiatic Lions at the Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park for one year.
The zoo is one of the major tourist attractions of Jharkhand. It is home to about 1450 wild animals representing 83 different species of mammals, reptiles and birds.
The MOU is signed between NTPC and Jharkhand Zoo Authority by Rajesh Dungdung, DGM (R&R), NTPC and Jabbar Singh, Member Secretary (Jharkhand Zoo Authority) for adopting a male and a female lion couple. As per the adoption policy, PVUN shall bear the expenditure for their feed over the year.
