NTPC Bongaigaon, in collaboration with Corporate QA&I, organized a two-day Quality Meet 2023 on November 17 and 18, 2023 at NTPC Bongaigaon, to deliberate about the various issues, suggestions and new initiatives being taken up by NTPC towards quality assurance in the power plant equipment supply and erection commissioning.
Manish Kumar Srivastava, ED (Engineering) graced the occasion with his presence and interacted with the participants in the concluding session. Shri Srivastava emphasized the significant role of CQA and FQA in maintaining quality within the organization. In his address, he said that Quality is the cornerstone of NTPC’s success and NTPC is committed to continuous improvement and adopting of new tools and technologies in ensuring quality aspects in the power plant’s equipment supply, erection and commissioning.
Shri Srivastava also stressed the importance of continuous self-development, digitalization of documents, addressing issues promptly, working efficiently, and establishing a robust quality management system in the NTPC. He also encouraged participants to provide suggestions for quality improvement initiatives in the organizations.
Earlier, in the inaugural session, Karunakar Das, Business Unit Head, NTPC Bongaigaon extended a warm welcome to all participants and emphasized the importance of quality in various domains, highlighting the crucial role of FQA in ensuring site erection quality aligning with NTPC’s core value of “Total Quality and Safety.”
The meet featured presentations from various NTPC stations, including a deliberation by Satish Upadhyay, ED-Rammam on “QA Practices in Civil Works of NTPC Projects” on November 17.
The Quality Meet was attended by senior officials from NTPC Bongaigaon, including K C Muraleedharan, GM (O&M),A Biswas, GM (Operation) and Sanjay Pande, GM (FGD).
The event brought together QA representatives from various NTPC stations along with representatives from Corporate Centre, IT, Vigilance, TS, presented physically as well as participants from across NTPC stations through VC. Various external stakeholders such as M/s BHEL, M/s L&T-T&D and M/s LMB were also invited to share their best practices in quality management.
