The 75th Republic Day celebrations at Coal India’s corporate office in Kolkata commenced with P.M. Prasad, Chairman, CIL along with Functional Directors and CVO paying floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial. Chairman, CIL then unfurled the National Flag and inspected the guard of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman, CIL said that coal is still India’s energy growth engine, and Coal India is aiming to meet the ambitious 780 million tonnes production target for the current fiscal. He urged Coal Indians to give their best and meet the target set.
He added that this will help India achieve its 1 billion tonnes goal of indigenous coal production for the fiscal and make India Aatmanirbhar in thermal coal production. Shri Prasad further highlighted the importance of CIL’s diversification plans in maintaining its leadership in the energy industry in the years to come.
Chairman, CIL also unveiled the 15th Edition of ‘Koyla Darpan’ and launched the “CIL e-Arogya Suvidha” a web portal designed to further ease the post-retirement medical bill processing for the retired executives across Coal India and its subsidiaries.
Smt. Bimla Prasad, President, CILOWS handed over fruit hampers to the representative of ‘Bodhana’ -a juvenile home for specially abled children in Kolkata on this occasion.
Vinay Ranjan, Director (Personnel & IR), CIL, Debasish Nanda, Director (Business Development), CIL, Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Marketing), CIL and Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), CIL were present on the occasion.
