The 4th Apex Safety Committee meeting of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was held at ED (Works) conference hall. S R Surwanshi, ED (Works) presided over the meeting. The highlight of the meeting was the record performance of 400 days of Zero fatality and 218 days without any reportable accident which are the best ever figure attained since inception. .
Speaking on the occasion ED(Works) applauded the efforts of all the units of the Steel Plant as well as the Safety Engineering Department for achieving this feat.
During the meeting presentations were made by Abkasa Behera, GM (Safety), and the Convener of apex committee & Chairperson and Co-chairperson of 8 sub-committees of the NISCHAY Safety initiative.
The meeting was attended by Chief General Manager In-charges, Chief General Managers, HODs and representative from Safety Engineering department and Sub-Committee NISCHAY convener as well as representative from Messrs E&Y .
The meeting was convened under the guidance of Ms. Asha Kartha, GM In-charge (Safety).
