Vindhyachal, 08 Dec.: In a remarkable initiative to enhance workplace safety culture, NTPC Vindhyachal organized a Mega Safety Pep Talk near VIP Road, BHEL Office. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 300 workers, along with prominent leaders and executives from NTPC and partner organizations.
The session was graced by Shri E Satya Phani Kumar, ED (Vindhyachal) in the august presence of dignitaries including Shri Sanjeev Kumar Saha, GM (O&M); Shri A.J. Rajkumar, GM (Maintenance & ADM); Shri Sujay Karmakar, GM (Green Chemicals & BE); Shri Atin Kundu, GM (Projects); Shri Ashish Kumar Agarwal, AGM (Safety); Shri Sunil Maheshwari, AGM (Projects) and Shri Suman Kumar Saha Project Manager from L&T alongside departmental heads and executives.
The program began with an address by Shri Ashish Kumar Agarwal, AGM(Safety) who emphasized the importance of meticulous workplace safety, hazard mitigation, and adherence to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and permit protocols.
During the event, Shri E Satya Phani Kumar, ED (Vindhyachal) administered the safety pledge and reminded everyone of the responsibility toward their families and the nation while performing their duties. He emphasized the need for vigilance and a safety-first mindset.
Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha, GM (O&M) urged participants to prioritize safety and return home happily each day. He emphasized the importance of inspecting safety belts and avoiding phone usage while working at heights.
Shri A.J. Rajkumar, GM (Maintenance & ADM) advised workers to focus solely on their assigned tasks and avoid impromptu training during work, which could lead to accidents.
Shri Sujay Karmakar, GM (GC&B.E.) provided insights into financial benefits such as salaries and provident funds, stressing the importance of maintaining a safe workplace environment.
Shri Atin Kundu, GM (Projects) highlighted the need for pre-use checks of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and immediate reporting of health issues to prevent accidents.
Shri Suman Kumar Saha, L&T Project Manager underlined the significance of physical fitness for efficient work and provided valuable insights into accident prevention.
The event concluded with addresses by other departmental executives and the felicitation of over 20 safety-conscious contract workers for their exemplary efforts in promoting safety awareness. This Mega Safety Pep Talk reaffirmed NTPC Vindhyachal’s commitment to fostering a robust safety culture, ensuring a secure and efficient workplace for all.
