Hyderabad, 04 April : The Singareni Collieries Company Limited has set an all-time record by achieving Coal production of 67.1 million tonnes during the financial year 2022-23 when compared to 65 million tonnes of Coal in the year 2021-22.
It also set a new record by removing 418 million cubic meters of overburden during the financial year 2022-23. The earlier record was 392 million cubic meters of overburden during the year 2017-18. Even in transportation of Coal to various companies, the SCCL set a new record by dispatching 667 lakh tonnes of Coal to eight Thermal power stations in the country and over 2,000 other industries.
SCCL Chairman and MD N Sridhar, IAS congratulated the employees for achieving the targeted Coal production in spite of obstructions caused by the incessant rains during the rainy season. He hoped that the employees would achieve the target of mining 75 million tonnes of Coal during the financial year 2023-24.
Last financial year 5 areas achieved over 100 percent production and 11 Opencast projects and 8 Underground mines achieved production targets.
Similarly, the Singareni Thermal power station in Jaipur of Mancherial district generated 9,304 million units of power with highest plant load factor (PLF) and exported 8,741 million units of power to the Telangana state government during the year 2022-23.
Since inception of the thermal power plant, the Plant had generated 57,752 million units of power and supplied 54,278 million units of power to Telangana grid. The Singareni thermal power had achieved 13 awards in various categories in power generation, environmental protection, fly-ash utilization, highest PLF etc.
On the solar power front, the Singareni generated 325 million units of power at its nine solar projects in the Coal belt region and supplied 318 million units to Telangana grid. The Singareni had saved power bills due to the tune over 50 per cent through setting up of solar power plants.
