As part of the Mines Rescue Services, SECL Initiative, practical hands-on training and demonstrations of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) were conducted by Shri Pankaj Kumar Roy, Instructor,Mines Rescue Station, Manendragarh.
This initiative was carried out under the guidance of Shri Manoj Bishnoi, General Manager (Rescue) at SECL, with the aim of equipping underground and opencast mine employees—especially Mining Officials, Electrical Supervisors, Electricians, Helpers, and Contractual workers—with the skills necessary to effectively administer CPR in critical situations.
Shri Pankaj Kumar Roy is holding Save a Life Certifications by NHCPS, USA in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support. He has been repeatedly adjudged Best Captain in various Inter Area First Aid and Mines Rescue Competitions.
Notably, he was awarded the title of Best Captain at the All India Mines Rescue Competition. Additionally, Shri Roy, as Captain, led the first Coal India team from SECL to participate in the 10th International Mines Rescue Competition held in Sudbury, Canada, in 2016.
