Athletes from the coalfields showcased how they use virtually all the muscles in their body to make the sport of weightlifting and powerlifting one of the most difficult sporting at the CIL inter-company Powerlifting, Weightlifting & Body Building Championships 2022, in Kolkata.
The top three athletes in each category of Powerlifting were placed as under:
59 Kg category:
Sachin Pimpalshende from WCL secured the Ist position, D. Raju Patra from MCL secured the 2nd position and Pradeep Binkar from SECL was placed in the third position.
66 Kg category:
K. Ananda Rao from SCCL secured the Ist position, Vinay Pal Singh from SECL secured the 2nd position and Mohan Singh Rawat from CIL Hq. was placed in the third position.
74 Kg category:
Alim Khan from WCL secured the Ist position, Biswaranjan Ray from CMPDIL secured the 2nd position and Puspak Bag from MCL was placed in the third position.
83 Kg category:
P. K. Pradhan from MCL secured the Ist position, Rakesh Mathre from WCL secured the 2nd position and Munna Mondal from ECL was placed in the third position.
93 Kg category:
Deepak Bhandarkar from WCL secured the Ist position, G. Rajaiah from SCCL secured the 2nd position and Arvind Singh from SECL was placed in the third position.
105 Kg category:
Deepankar Ghosh from MCL secured the Ist position, Vijay Kumar Nalke from WCL secured the 2nd position and S. Srinivas Reddy from SCCL was placed in the third position.
120 Kg category:
Zafar Ahmed from SECL secured the Ist position, B.R. Natragi from WCL secured the 2nd position and Sujit Kumar Behera from MCL was placed in the third position.
120 Kg + category:
B. Thirupathi from SCCL secured the Ist position, Chandan Pradhan from MCL secured the 2nd position and Shubham Soni from SECL was placed in the third position.
