Jharsuguda, 09 Aug. : Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd and Chairman, Hindustan Zinc and Akarsh Hebbar, Global Managing Director, Vedanta Semiconductors & Displays and Global MD, Avanstrat Inc visited the world’s largest aluminium plant located in Jharsuguda, Odisha. During the visit, Priya held strategic discussions on the future growth roadmap, efforts to ensure responsible operations, and community initiatives. She underscored the need to support these with comprehensive digital, business excellence and people practices.
The highlight of the visit was an engaging ‘face to face’ townhall, where Priya and Akarsh interacted with the aluminium plant team members. Here, they launched the third phase of the Shri Shakti initiative. Priya and the senior management team also carried out a plantation drive called Matruvan ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
Priya visited the CSR and ESG Gallery, where she learnt about sustainable business practices and community development initiatives. During her visit, she unveiled a new CSR product catalogue for the aluminium sector, highlighting ongoing efforts to promote rural livelihoods and preserve cultural heritage. Local artisans, including members of self-help groups (SHGs), joined the CSR team to showcase a wide range of products, including Saura, Sambalpuri and Dhokra art. The show-and-tell reflected Vedanta Aluminium’s commitment to social responsibility, cultural preservation and women empowerment, further reinforcing Vedanta Aluminium’s dedication to promoting community development.
