Nagpur, April 22, 2025 : In a significant stride towards community healthcare upliftment, Dr. Hemant Shard Pande, Director (HR) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), inaugurated a suite of advanced medical equipment at Dr. Hedgewar Blood Centre, Nagpur.
This initiative with an expense of ₹169.26 Lakhs is executed under WCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The newly introduced equipment includes the cutting-edge Spectra Optia Apheresis System, Cryofuge Centrifuges and the Evolis 4 Plate ELISA Processor, which together will vastly enhance the Centre’s capabilities in serving patients with thalassemia, sickle cell disease, and other critical conditions.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Pande highlighted WCL’s enduring commitment to social welfare. He said that at WCL, we believe in empowering institutions that lead with compassion and excellence in healthcare. This initiative is a testament to our dedication to uplifting the underprivileged.
Established in 1993, Dr. Hedgewar Blood Centre has long stood as a pillar of hope and care for the people of Vidarbha.
With this generous contribution, the Centre is now even better equipped to fulfil its mission “None shall suffer for want of blood” and will support critical healthcare infrastructure in the region.
