WCL organised a pivotal workshop on Forestry Clearances & its importance in Resource Planning in Coal Mining, focused on enhancing forestry clearance compliance and fostering sustainability in coal mining.
The inaugural session was presided over by the presence of CMD, WCL, Shri J.P. Dwivedi and graced by Director (Technical), WCL Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Finance) Shri. Bikram Ghosh, CVO, WCL Shri.
Ajay Madhukar Mhetre; along with Nodal Officer from the Governments of Maharashtra and senior officials from FC division MoEF&CC.
Organized by WCL’s Forest Department, the workshop served as a vital platform to unite policymakers, environmental experts and industry professionals.
The objective: to promote a deeper understanding of forestry clearance procedures and explore strategies for balancing development with ecological preservation.
In his presidential address, Shri J.P. Dwivedi, CMD, WCL, highlighted the core message of the workshop, stating, “Forestry clearances are not just procedural steps—they are a commitment to responsible coexistence with nature.
At WCL, we view environmental safeguards as enablers of progress, not obstacles.” He further emphasized, “Through this workshop, we aim to empower our teams with the insights needed to navigate regulatory landscapes while upholding our duty to conserve forest ecosystems.”
With a strong focus on regulatory evolution, process efficiency and eco-friendly mining, the workshop reflects WCL’s unwavering commitment to sustainable resource planning in line with national development goals.
